…in essence, this expression is about creating a state to allow one to move into a lighter, more creative state.
Question: Alana, I have heard the comment many times that “Enlightenment is a Joke”.
Could you please give me some spiritual insight on what this really means and if it is true?
Answer: Thank you for your question. Enlightenment really is not a joke, yet it is a joke when trying to explain this expression.
When moving toward an enlightened state one is wishing to achieve a sense of peace within. In addition, it is a way to realize a joyful heart and alignment with all of our inner parts.
Moving toward an enlightened state generates a symphony of expression intending on the experience of more and more lightness within the body and less attachment to our mind’s questioning thoughts. (I am speaking collectively here.) What I mean by our mind’s thoughts is that our mind needs to feel that its position is right or wrong, or our mind needs to have this or that.
Beyond Mental Spirituality
Being enlightened does not mean that we go without as we still have preferences. We still take care of ourselves. We do behold ourselves in a state of self-love and we recognize a certain humbleness.
We will recognize as we become lighter and laugh more we will have the experience of more joy. As we take life less seriously and become more vulnerable to possibility while the universe brings us surprises, we become more beholding of balance. Then an enlightened state of being will follow.
It will flow within our body, within our emotions, within our mind, within our heart. So, in essence, this expression is about creating a state to allow one to move into a lighter, more creative state. This is where one recognizes that an enlightened state of being is not this serious thing that we do, like what we might do rather than be when we act from a viewpoint of mental spirituality.
Englightenment as a joke is about this precious state of being, the allowing of light and joy to move and create a vibration throughout our whole body and being that embraces the present moment.
Yes, enlightenment is a joke, but no enlightenment is not a joke. When one has attained an enlightened state one will have great peace and that is not a joke.
This all-inclusive state of consciousness as a joke creates a space within to have more peace and create less seriousness regarding attaining enlightenment. That makes it easier to recognize how to be in the moment where enlightenment can be felt and experienced. Thank you for this precious question.
