…use your doubt for self-realization. Then you can find out more about what your doubt wishes to awaken within you.
Question for Alana: How do you stop doubting yourself even when you know you have made a good decision?
I could use personal coaching on this issue because I always seem to vacillate once I finally make a decision.
Thanks, Alana, for your spiritual guidance in assessing this personal dilemma of mine.
Alana’s Answer: Thank you for your question Dear One.
Doubt is a very interesting subject and it is one that often enters our mind. Doubt is rarely felt within your heart because your heart is where we have a sense of knowing and/or understanding.
And your heart is where one holds compassion; compassion for yourself as well as compassion for others.
The Gifts in Doubt
So, how does one move beyond doubt?
First of all, you must embrace the doubt. Recognize that your mind doubts because your mind has the ability to reason. Your mind has chosen to reason choices, to weigh and evaluate when we make decisions. Doubt is a natural mental element when we seek to change.
As you remember that the knowledge that enters your mind due to your beautiful ability to reason will help you recognize that, of course, doubt could be something you might ponder.
Now I also wish to add that I sense a feeling within you that goes along with this doubt. The doubt seems as though it is blended with longing or remembrance of deep sadness. Perhaps doubt is wanting to point you in a direction; a direction where you can begin to also embrace any sadness to help you heal and rebalance your emotions.
As you learn and remember to turn toward compassion for your desires hold a connection to the deep love within your heart. This will help doubt become a tool for insight instead of a force that yields to any unwarranted fear.
Honor and use your doubt for self-realization. Then you can find out more about what your doubt wishes to awaken within you. What will evolve out of this state into a deeper connection with your heart? From asking and receiving you will gain greater clarity and understanding for the reasoning and basis of your decisions. From this point, you can gain greater conviction to hold to what arose as the truth to what will bring you the most joy.
From the awareness that you establish, you’ll be more apt to define the reasoning which becomes the basis for your sense of knowing. You will attain the knowledge to act upon based on what your highest and best good might be in any given moment, and how you can more deeply love yourself.
When we learn how to discern (move from judging our doubt to discerning our truth) and act from a space of greater self-love, it allows us to contribute more to our life in meaningful ways and to others, too.
Thank you for your question. It was a grand one.
