Melody Beattie has written a meditation book that simply should not be missed by anyone, “The Language of Letting Go.” Many people associate Hazelden Press as publishing only books about recovery from alcohol and the family groups called Alanon, but this book isn’t directed toward either.
Many readers who recommend this book realize that the meditations contained inside can definitely help the co-dependent personality and teach them how to let go of things that they can not change. However, it is not simply for co-dependents.
It can be a great learning tool and meditation tool for anyone regardless of the situation, faith or spiritual development level.
This is one book that will be used year and year. The meditations are not dated and each time you go through the book, you will get something new and different from the meditation. Beattie asks us each to take a close look at ourselves and what truly letting go means. It does not mean that we say we will let go of something only to take it back hours or minutes later. It does mean minding our business and changing only those things we can change – ourselves.
If you are co-dependent or live with someone who is, you must read this book. If you simply want a great daily meditation tool, you will want this book. If you have never begun daily meditation and want to begin, then this may be a perfect book to assist you.
You will be happy you picked up a copy of, The Language of Letting Go by Melody Beattie.
