This book is Miguel Ruiz's fourth in the Toltec Wisdom Series and is just as wonderful as the three which were previously published. "The Mastery of Love: A Practical Guide to the Art of Relationship," is written in an easy to read conversational style. It can easily be understood by anyone, whether familiar with Toltec beliefs or not.
In this work, Ruiz addresses peeling layers away from our selves to relieve our creativity and authenticity. The "voices" in our heads that allow us to be trapped in a belief system that may not really address our issues with love are also addressed in great detail. The 'moneymind', the ego, and the internal voice are often causes of the pain, fear, drama and sorrow in our lives. We hide our real selves by allowing these inner voices to become our public expressions of ourselves. We choose each day whether to write our own story of our lives or to allow the voices to do the expressing.
This book instructs us on how to love; not just how to love someone else, but how to love ourselves, how to give of ourselves, how to live and how to appreciate life moment by moment. Without loving ourselves, we can not hope to find another soul with which to bond and form a healthy, permanent relationship.
Whether you are part of a relationship currently, a young person just entering the world of developing relationships with the opposite sex, between relationships, or have lost your mate due to death or divorce, you will learn a great deal from this beautiful piece of work. Ruiz offers simple tenets expressed through metaphors to offer a healthier, alternative concept of love. If you have read 'The Four Arguments' by Ruiz, you will see that the concepts build on the four points provided there. However, you do not have to have read the previous book to understand this one.
This book is a must read for everyone. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn about how to love. You will enjoy, The Mastery of Love: A Practical Guide to the Art of Relationship: A Toltec Wisdom Book by Miguel Ruiz and probably read it again and again.
